Trail Improvements
Jan 9th, 2012 | By jenglish | Category: Trail Conditions
Lots of work has been done and is still being done to get our trails in tip-top shape for this season – WHEN the snow finally gets here. But many people have been taking advantage of the dry weather to get a lot done! We worked on the trail from Murdock Drive (going into Townshend) down to Ellen Ware Rd and that’s nearly all done with the exception of a small “detour” around a wet area. I understand that many of the trails have been debrushed and bridges rebuilt or replaced. I’ve included a few pictures – the first picture of just one of the many obstacles on the above-mentioned trail AND, our pride and joy, THREE new bridges – one behind Nelson Fontaine’s house (which is a popular route to Putney Mt) and two behind John Eye’s house (Route 35). Our next meeting is THIS SATURDAY evening, Jan. 14th, 7:30, at April Wellman’s house on Grassy Brook Rd. I’m sure there will be more work plans discussed then.
