Feb 17th, 2008 | By Admin | Category: Trail ConditionsSorry for the lack of information. Will try and do better from now on. We were in Brookline for the Steak Cookout and got a bit of riding in. There are about 18 inches of hard crusted snow on the trails. We rode over from Murdock Drive up to the Airport and out to Peaked Mount Road where we turned around. The trails were groomed and pretty good although still some water holes due to the recent warm weather and rain. We hear that the trail to Putney Mountain and out to the Hawk Watch is in great shape. Volunteers have been out grooming and filling in wet areas and it’s about as good as it’s going to get under these conditions which isn’t all that bad. We really need some COLD weather to hang around a bit and some fresh snow to groom, but those would be ideal conditions in a perfect world!!! Until that happens, get out there and enjoy the snow we have – just take it easy, watch for the water bars and stay to the right. Have fun!
